About Us

Learn what's behind Little Loggers Playschool.

Our Philosophy

Little Loggers Playschool staff uses a comprehensive approach to educating and enriching the whole child. Creative Curriculum provides teaching strategies that will enable each child to reach their full potential. The teaching staff will use their keen observation skills to determine where each child is on their own learning journey, and how each child learns best.

Our Objectives

  • Spend quality time with every child.
  • Develop close child-teacher bonds of affection, trust, and respect.
  • Build skills that set children up for success in kindergarten and beyond.
  • Assess each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth to work towards the best learning outcomes for each child.

Our Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum builds children's confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills through hands-on, project-based investigations. Trusted for decades by early childhood educators, our curriculum:

  • Respects and nurtures individual skill progression for the whole child.
  • Harnesses the power of play through studies that engage learners as young as two years old.
  • Seamlessly connects families to their children's learning.
  • Provides intentional support for every teacher every day.

Who We Are

Welcome to Little Loggers Playschool, a heart-driven initiative by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Glide Revitalization. Our journey spans over two years, marked by passion, dedication, and a deep commitment to addressing the evolving needs of our community.

From the beginning of this project, we've weathered the challenges of location development and staffing, delving into extensive research to truly understand what our community requires. As we navigated this path, we found inspiration in the rich history of Glide, Oregon—a town rooted in the timber industry and the proud host of the old Glide Mill.

However, the story of Glide is not only one of prosperity but also resilience. In 2020, the Archie Creek fire swept through our community, leaving a trail of devastation. Many of our neighbors faced unimaginable losses—homes, cherished memories, and the very foundations of their lives were upended. In response, Glide Revitalization committed itself to working alongside federal, state, and local organizations to aid those affected by the fire, supporting their recovery every step of the way.

In the aftermath, we identified a pressing issue that extended beyond the immediate crisis—the lack of available childcare in Douglas County, and specifically in Glide. Existing facilities were burdened with long waitlists and limited availability, leaving parents and families in a challenging situation.

This realization gave birth to Little Loggers Playschool—an endeavor by Glide Revitalization to provide support for those in need of childcare near their homes. We stand ready to serve our community with open arms, offering not only relief for fire impacted families but also a nurturing environment for Glide's entire population.

Our mission extends beyond providing childcare; we are deeply committed to shaping the future of Glide's youth. Through engaging activities and a curriculum that honors the history of our town and the legacy of the lumber industry that defined it, we aim to instill a sense of pride and connection among our little loggers.

At Little Loggers Playschool, we believe in the power of community, resilience, and the transformative impact of early education. Join us in this journey as we build not just a playschool but a cornerstone for the growth and development of Glide, Oregon.
